Marketing - Six Easy Steps to Get Your Marketing in Motion Have you ever felt so overwhelmed with marketing you sit idol? Are you so afraid that you are making the wrong marking decision that you do nothing at all? Marketing can often feel overwhelming. Everywhere you go you hear about marketing. Should I advertise? If so where and how often? Everyone keeps saying I should get out there, but what does that mean? Out where? The list goes on and on. Marketing often "feels" like a complicated maze with no way out. So there you sit, frozen in the sea of indecision. Today I`m here to encourage you to get your marketing in motion. Trust me - - sitting in your office waiting for the phone to ring will not make you a client magnet. Regardless of how great your services are, you must get your marketing in motion. It`s time to get out of that chair and get to work! There is a world out there just waiting to know more about you and how your services can make their lives better. To get you moving in the right direction, here are six ways to get your marketing in M-O-T-I-O-N: M = Mindset. How you think about marketing is perhaps one of the biggest hindrances to moving your business forward. We tell ourselves over and over, "I hate marketing. Why should I market when I will only be rejected? I don`t have time to market. If I market my business people will think I`m a salesman." Do any of those statements sound familiar? I promise you they are lies. Lies that we all tell ourselves, myself included. We can justify these lies quite well at times, but they are still lies. Next time you hear yourself having negative intentions ask yourself if that statement is really true. Can you absolutely, positively know that it is true? Chances are no. Think of a couple of examples where the opposite is true. Now try to sit in that new place - the place of truth. You`ll be surprised how your marketing will improve. O = Objectives. Your marketing has to have clear objectives. You need to know what your purpose is for each and every marketing activity you do. Otherwise you are just performing random activities. And guess what? Random marketing activities create random marketing results. You can take that one to the bank. T = Teamwork. As an entrepreneur "team" isn`t always at the top of our lists. We are fiercely independent, which is good in many ways, but when it comes to growing your business it can seriously hold back your progress. How much is your time worth? It is important that you know the answer to that question. Are you doing tasks that can be done by others at a fraction of what your hourly rate is? Pass on some of your duties to others. Make them a member of your team and watch your business take off. I = Inspire. Are you inspiring? Do you make others want to succeed? Are people better off just having come in contact with you? They say that you know you`ve had an influence on someone when they can`t write their life`s story without you in it. Whose story will you be in? O = One step at a time. If not knowing what to do is keeping your marketing at a standstill, start with just one step. Write an article, join a group or association or attend a networking event. Even a small step is still moving. N = Never, ever take your clients for granted. Give your clients the respect they deserve. Trust has to be earned which happens through relationship. Pay attention to details about your clients. What they read, where they socialize, what`s important to them, what they like to do in their free time, how many children or grandchildren they have. It`s flattering when someone remembers details about you. Take time each week to acknowledge at least 3-5 current or past clients, and never, ever take them for granted. M-O-T-I-O-N. Take time this week to get your marketing into motion and reap the benefits that will come with it.
